About this map

A curated selection of ecovias, ecopistas and a few local cycleways across northern and central Portugal, including nearby Oeste coastal routes. It covers these areas geographically, with extra detail around Porto; it is not an exhaustive inventory or a live routing service. The Chaves–Verín entry includes a small cross-border continuation.

What the lines mean

Distances & downloads

“Published length” comes from the linked route page and can differ from the actual line supplied. “Drawn” measures the included geometry; separate sections are added without connecting gaps. GPX downloads export the displayed sections without routing between them.

Sources

Each route links to its own source. Principal sources include IP Património, CIM Alto Minho, Turismo de Ponte de Lima, Município de Mira, BioRia / Estarreja, other municipal and regional visitor guides, and OpenStreetMap via Overpass (snapshot 24 October 2026).

Walking & riding

Ecovias can include gravel, stairs, narrow paths or wooden walkways. Cycling permission varies; the Vez leaflet specifically lists a summer bicycle restriction. Check the linked source and local signs before setting out. This map does not report live closures or surface conditions. A source notice about disruptions on the Ecovia do Mondego was checked on 24 October 2026 and appears in that route’s details; check its official website for updates.
